School Bus, 2 Cars Collide On Southern State Parkway In Hempstead

Seven children were on a school bus when it collided with two passenger vehicles on the Southern State Parkway on Long Island, police said.

It happened on Thursday, Oct. 26 in Hempstead.

Just after 3 p.m., the two cars and the school bus — carrying seven children and one driver — crashed into each other near Exit 19 on the westbound side, according to New York State Police.

A passenger from one of the cars was taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.

There were no other injuries reported.

Additional information about the cause of the crash has not been released.
